Female Woodpecker

A full frame shot of a rather wet looking female Great Spotted Woodpecker taken in portrait format from a hide out in my back yard.

It's wonderful to be able to photograph or simply just observe these beautiful birds from just 3 metres or so away, she knew I was in the hide behind the camouflaged netting but as long as I didn't make any sudden movements she was happy enough to continue eating the peanuts I'd provided.
