I also prefer the previous version it leaves more for the mind to speculate about when not the whole tree is displayed

I like the portrait one more, but having said that if you had framed it so the tree on the left was more to the edge of the frame think that would be better IMHO

A lovely scene, again smashing colours and comp. Love both versions but if you really twisted my arm I would go for the portrait version.
