Typical Lake District weather .There is always something to photograph.but you cannot put the camera away
Certainly looks typicall lakes weather Danny, captured this well
It is a very good composition and the presentation is grand,
The dry stane dykes and the old farmhouse sit well below the clamped down clouds hugging the hills. Landscapes are not just for he sunny days, well done Danny.
Just shows there are wonderful pictures to be found in the Lake District even when the weather is grotty.
Lovely composition and well presented Dan
One of the more remote areas in the lake District which we try to visit whenever in the area. The little church contains a memorial window to HMS Glorious, a aircraft carrier which was attacked and destroyed in the early years of the second war in Norwegian waters.
The Lake District gets more than it's fair share of rain and judging by the sky here more is on the way.
A fine composition under low light giving softening of all the colours.
The poor sheep looks a bit lonely though.

This shot was taken from the field immediately outside the church.
Well composed Danny, I do like the sheep for me it brings it all together, nice shot.
The solitary cow carries on munching, she's experienced worse weather. I like her presence. (I like the rest of the image too...)
Martindale is the little-known gem of the area, according to John Denman (I'm sure you remember him). So of course I have never been there. But you're tempting me, Danny . . .
This is a really lovely composition.
Oops, Bill has pointed out that I have mistaken a sheep for a cow. You would never make that mistake...
Profound and profuse apologies.
Beautiful view ! Excellent photo
A wonderful scene, Dan, what an idyllic place to live. Carol
brilliant comp danny wonderful colour and tones love the moody sky too a cracker nice one
You can feel that damp chilly mood in this one Dan
Beautifully atmosphere and tones, Danny. Classic Lakes.
It's a while since I have been to,Martindale .You have captured it beautifully in not so good weather.Good place for Red Deer on the fells round here ....Phil
The composition is wonderful Danny and the image beautiful despite the claggy clouds.
Nicely composed Dan. The weather is just like that here today.
A really moody landscape that works well Dan.
Another cracker Danny.
Yep thought it was a sheep and went back to check out
also has matching colours to the front door
wonderful landscape Danny
A beautiful image that I like verry much.
superb image danny great autumn colour
A lovely image Dan, full of glorious colours beneath a lowering sky ... Carol
very nice landscape
Lovely composition and colours - who needs good light in the Lake District
Heavy and oppressive weather adds to the feel of this vista, Danny. As Dougie so correctly said, landscapes are not just sun and blue skies with white fluffy clouds.
A lovely photogenic weather
There's a reason it's so green and has so many lovely water features! A lovely scene with the farmhouse settled into it for the long haul.
