The second in this little mini series of hands.
Thank you all for your comments on yesterdays effort.
Another great study Danny
Perhaps not as much impact as yesterdays upload
brilliant detail and tones danny belting comp a cracker very very nice one
Fascinating capture evoking memories of a lost art.
Not as strong as yesterday's upload but still an excellent study.
I agree with Albert. You started with a belter, this is quieter. Enjoying the series enormously.
Don't see many compositors these days, good study.
Excellent addition to the series Dan.
Started with a real cracker,Danny hard act to follow, still very good and an excellent addition to this series.
A great work in mono.
I prefer this to yesterday's as the hands seem to be doing something and IMO are better arranged.
If eyes are the windows to the soul, then hands are the door.
Another first-class study. This is a fine series already and it's only just begun . . .
I find this very moving - something about old hands still working at their trade is very special to me. An excellent shot Danny and I'm looking forward to more in this series.
Another very interesting study of hands - something to aspire to!
Wrinkled but still capable of intricate work. Another good one.......Sandy
Fabulous work very real
Extremely stunning close up Danny
A top class image!!!
This is a pictutre that oozes calm, Dan. I can't put my finger on why, but it's how I se it. The calm concentration of a master plying his trade, perhaps?.
My Great Grandfather was a compositor in the Edinburgh Evening News some 150 years ago, my Grandmother used to take his lunch to him and eventually joined him at work some years later as a putter upper, I suppose a type setter or there abouts.
I never met my Great Grandfather but I do recall my Grandmother's hands being stained I think by the lead which she would have handled.
Brings nback personal memories of family and also my own love for Black & White photography, this is another excellent example.
