Looking at the large view seems to make me part of the scene, everything draws me in , particularly that curve in the ice and the reeds drawing me through to the mountains. Would love this on my wall , really nust get back up there soon. Thanks for sharing this beauty.

One of the best of yours I have seen Dougie. Great composition and lead-in and the light has fallen perfectly lighting the reeds on the RH side and the mountains. No hesitation in giving this a UA.

I'm tempted to interpret that as meaning that your feet and hands haven't thawed out yet!
I'm getting to know those bowed reeds well, seeing them glow against cold blue ice is something special though.

Many thanks that's very kind of you, it was a great visit up here. The sun never gets that high during winter but skids across the surface of the land. We only have real daylight for about 4-5 hours.

I do come here a lot, it's hard not to when the weather is good, that can mean bad for lost people. I was only cold when I started to slurp back to the car. Muckboots are great.
The shape of the shore in the foreground and the cold shadow really enhance this landscape.

So many pictures since my last site visit but this is definitely one to ponder over for a while.
I particularly enjoy the composition with the curve of ice leading through the picture to the mountains beyond.
It's a beauty.

I was taken away, sucked in by the image for minutes. Only after I closed the large version and scrolled down I saw the awards. Well worth each single one - and you now get one on top of them from me, too.
