...the last for now from my visit 14 days ago on Rannoch Moor, a morning I'll remember for some time to come.
A great lead in with the edge of the ice, very nice image.

Love the low direct but almost gentle light that picks out the details. And Platchet's comment about the curve of the ice gently leading you into the image is spot on.
lovely image, well catured. Did not look as nice as this when I was there a few days ago.
A great shot. Feels cold just to look at it!!
Looking at the large view seems to make me part of the scene, everything draws me in , particularly that curve in the ice and the reeds drawing me through to the mountains. Would love this on my wall , really nust get back up there soon. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
One of the best of yours I have seen Dougie. Great composition and lead-in and the light has fallen perfectly lighting the reeds on the RH side and the mountains. No hesitation in giving this a UA.
Quote: a morning I'll remember for some time to come.
I'm tempted to interpret that as meaning that your feet and hands haven't thawed out yet!
I'm getting to know those bowed reeds well, seeing them glow against cold blue ice is something special though.
Many thanks that's very kind of you, it was a great visit up here. The sun never gets that high during winter but skids across the surface of the land. We only have real daylight for about 4-5 hours.
I do come here a lot, it's hard not to when the weather is good, that can mean bad for lost people. I was only cold when I started to slurp back to the car. Muckboots are great.
The shape of the shore in the foreground and the cold shadow really enhance this landscape.
Superlative shapes abounding beneath clear air. Another stupendous image.
Another superb landscape Dougie. A
Fabulous image Dougie. Love the light on those reeds, has a warming effect............Sandy
Thanks to all for your support.
Again the cold and warm colours meet Dougie. Love the oranges of the grasses in the foreground and that curve of dark ice disecting them leading you into the water. One of your gems I think
Superb again Dougie, the light picks out the f/g grass really well.
beautiful shot so well composed
This is lovely. The golden reeds against the blue of the ice is wonderful. A really lovely scene youve captured.
So many pictures since my last site visit but this is definitely one to ponder over for a while.
I particularly enjoy the composition with the curve of ice leading through the picture to the mountains beyond.
It's a beauty.
Beautiful again Doug...a day to remember indeed.
Fabulous image Dougie - love it !
Lovely scene Doug. Looks nice and cool not like us. Currently 35c today. John
Danny, Thanks very much, I've just come in and noticed. Made my day even better.
Just beautiful, Dougie.
Thanks to you too Ronnie, never had 3 UA's before.
I was taken away, sucked in by the image for minutes. Only after I closed the large version and scrolled down I saw the awards. Well worth each single one - and you now get one on top of them from me, too.
Thanks Johanna and good to hear from you too,
A great composition and fab light on the snowy peaks.
