This Spring Snowflake (Leucojum Vernum) is one of the hardest flowers to capture I have found.......I am not entirely happy with this one and there is some pollen staining of the petals, but I thought I'd give it an airing.
As I mentioned before this small flower is NOT related to snowdrops, but rather to the large decorative Amaryllis.

My thanks as always to all who commented on Lily.

Ronnie.

Can't help the pollen staining Ronnie.
A ''natural'' image.
Good colours and well presented too.
Excellent shot.

Not an easy subject Ronnie, because of all the whites, but I don't think you've done badly with it mate....Next time try dropping the exposure by half a stop or so and see if that keeps the burned out areas under control a little better......Still a very worthy image of an upload though mate....

You have done this little beauty proud Ronnie. The pollen can drive you nuts with all the spring bulbs. I keep a little paint brush with me to try and brush it off. Not always easy though Smile

Magic.

I think you've done very well with this, Ronnie, getting just enough detail in the centre of the little flower, and the pollen staining is only nature, so is not a problem, nothing in nature is perfect. Carol

and those green tips are enchanting. Superb……..Jocelia

Wonderful super-close-up image, Ronnie! Texture, colours and details all 1st class. I love these flowers and have some quietly expanding clumps of them in my garden. Might post a couple of shots one day soon, but none as close as this!
