I know I should do a landscape instead of a portret picture and I didn't respect the rules of thirds, but is there anything I should do to improve it?

I think you've captured this scene really well.

I think it is great as it is. Perhaps the inclusion of more foreground interest might have worked equally as well: if there was anything there of course!

Hi Daniela,

In my opinion this works because it is in portrait orientation rather than landscape and I'm not sure what you mean by the rule of thirds not being obeyed? I really love the inclusion of the rock in the bottom right only to be spoiled by the fact that you've plastered your name all over it. Create a border and put your name in there instead.

I think if there is anything you could do to improve the shot it is to darken the sky a little and brighten the valley to get some more colours into the shadows. I would also consider cloning out the blade of grass bottm left but apart from that it is well done and a great shot.

I know I should do a landscape instead of a portret picture and I didn't respect the rules of thirds.

The sky occupies approx 1/3 the picture and the land 2/3 hence conforming to Rule of Thirds, which generally does help landscapes enormously.

Like Dave says, I would brighten the shadow detail to give some more colour and texture to it. Although I do feel that this can stand alone, I do agree that a little more foreground interest would not go amiss here. I would advise never to add a logo or text into your picture area. It is not necessary to add your name as we do know who you are from your description but if you really feel you must, why not place it in a small font in a narrow border, away from your actual picture area.

No problem with composition but there is no subject as such. The valley leads into the image to....

The sky is a touch bright and you could darken that in your software. You need to add something to landscape images, something to add drama in order to lift them into a different category. Many many such images look the same to the third party viewer.
