i found these multicoloured starfish on a visit to a remote sandy beach north of barmouth in west wales
there were literally thousands of them spawning in all the shallow pools left just after the high tide
dozens of gulls were picking them off except where there were people or dogs
i found this vivid group quite near the entrance gate onto the beach and they had been left undisturbed
