This is the first of a series of shots I took yesterday with the delightful Kitty Blue.
It was her first nude shoot, but she was brilliant to work with and hugely professional.
Shot at 50 ISO @ 1/50s to add a little motion blur to the white gauze. 32" x 48" softbox front and left, with a grid on the front to contain the light from the background. Barndoors diffused low and rear to add the edge glow and separation from the backdrop.

Technically this is obviously very good, and going by your description you went to an awful lot of trouble to achieve this result.
What I'm always interested in is what does the image supposed to say? I would love to hear why you wanted to create the picture in the way you did.
Could you also explain why you cropped off the bottom of her legs?
I still like the image and it gets my vote. One thing I would say to the model if you use her again, is to try and get a bit more expression on her face. Although as you say this was her first nude modelling so she was possibly a little nervous.
You painted this one with light, great job. Super technique.
Thank you all for your comments. Welcome to EPZ to both Diana and Donna. To answer a couple of remarks:

Thank you very much. I always work hard in the studio, and in post processing.

I only ever take photographs for the sake of art. The commissions I take are purely on that basis. I do an awful lot of model portfolio work, and book illustration, and in each instance I try and create a "painting" of sorts. There's never a reason.

yes - it worked better as a tighter composition. The movement was all in the midriff area and around the head, whereas the legs were static. If I had cropped lower, the shot would have lost most of it's dynamic and flow (in my humble opinion)

I don't disagree with you here, but I think this may have had more to do with the fact that this was a capture that was spontaneous, as opposed to planned. Kitty had an incredibly strong fan blowing the gauze on to her, and it had worked loose. I fired this just as she caught the gauze from flying off her. The movement is demonstrable through the back end of the gauze.
Thank you very much for your comments. Very few people take the time to deconstruct an image as they see it, and I encourage you to do this wherever possible.
