It's beautiful and the black background really enhances it.

Very pretty image.
I feel the flowers might look better positioned off centre in the frame. I've done mod with small crop.
The underside flower is darker due to being shaded. The detail is nearly lost on the brightest side. A reflector under the flowers could have been used to brighten the shaded areas.
Usually more diffused lighting with reflectors suit delicate flowers such as these. Just enough directional light at an angle to the petals to bring out the texture,
regards
Ian

Needs to be brighter and a touch sharper. I would go with Ian's crop too. The histogram suggests some under exposure. Try that and/or the brightness tool.

This is a gorgeous shot as it stands. If you want another aspect I would turn this into portrait and maybe position the subject to one side slightly as this would improve the composition. This is just my opinion for improvment.
Regards John.

Not a bad apple blossom shot Dave.

It is underexposed, and thats because you deliberately underexposed it using - 2/3 compensation.

So either you intentionally wanted it under, or, as many people so, you mixed up how exposure compensation for whites and blacks should be calculated. For whites, its generally + exposure compensation, not negative, - which would be for blacks.

So I will assume you accidentally went the wrong way, and shot, with a modification, how it looks without the - 2/3. Ive also cropped it, and tilted it, and to make up for lost space, Ive used a simple frame.

the original shot is nice, and it didnt need a lot of work to make it "pop", just the brightness and a little sharpening. Scroll up and click the modifications tab to see what I mean.

regards

Willie
