Thanks for all the c&c's on my last upload, i'm not sure how to follow it but here goes.

Tried messing with the background on this but not confident it works.

Any critique welcome.

Dave.

Great shot, you create a lot of mystery and atmopshere. Not sure about the background, depends what you wanted to achieve I would personally prefer a plainer one maybe just a couple of the horses Smile

Great shot. I like the setup. I probably would have left the horses out of the background, though.

I didn't notice the background until it was pointed out to me so it shows how good your shot is at capturing the viewer. I have awarded you my 'user award' nice image well done.

I really like the concept, but find the horses just a little bit too distracting, particularly the one top left - I find it fights for attention with the face. I'd definitely keep the background as it suits the portrait well, and is very quirky. Maybe lower the brightness a bit? There'd be greater contrast between the lit side of the face and the background then and it'd give the portrait the impact it deserves.

Edit: Actually maybe use teh shadow/highlight tool to just bring the highlights of the horses down - wouldn't want to lose too much detail there as I think they contribute a lot to this image.

BGs not for me but I do like the shot, one more minor niggle would be the burn out on the face. Still a goodun though.
