flashback

flashbackWithout a shadow of a doubt your best work yet Milla. V2 is good but V1 gets my vote .... the subtle colours add a lot of depth to the image.

Maybe the eyes could do with being a touch sharper, but that's a minor niggle.

Regarding looking better in PS, just a few thoughts .....

Once you've resized for EPZ, do you sharpen again. If not they can look a little soft. Before converting to JPEG for EPZ I convert the colour profile from Adobe RGB as captured by the camera to Adobe sRGB. If I don't do this then I find the colours look flat and washed out viewed on EPZ.

despair

despairNot bad for a first attempt Wink V1 for me as the BW looks "cleaner" somehow.

The figure to me does'nt quite fit in the scene and has a slightly pasted-on look. Think carefully about shadows ... paint them in on a separate layer with a soft low-opacity brush and change leyer blend mode and/or opacity to suit. Also think about painting on some shading on the main character to give a more 3D effect. You can do this on a layer above the figure and again vary opacity and blend mode to suit.

Looking forward to seeing more of this type of work though ....

purr

purrThe BW conversion and lighting are very good indeed, as is the composition with the eye staring out of the image. I think the only weak point is kitty's feet visible at the bottom of the image. They clutter the shot a little too much IMO. Maybe better if kitty was under a sheet with only the head showing above the arm?

Into the blue

Into the blueNice idea for the image.

When pasting in PS you need to be careful so you don't get a pasted on look. This usually means making your selection just inside the outline of the object you intend to cut and paste, and then feathering the selection by a pixel or two before making the copy.

Starkbench

StarkbenchBeautiful simplicity in this shot, but I don't think you've composed it as well as it could be. For me the bench should be lower down in the frame .... towards the bottom right rather than floating about where it is. Just my opinion though.
