Another RIAT shot from last year, this time one of the first performers of the day and a much less photogenic sky, but on this run though my archive, the more monotone look actually appealed to me.
As always, thanks for looking.

I think you're right. Together, the monotone grey sky and the silver grey aircraft result in a very graphic, very clean image. The little touch of afterburner just lifts it. (Sorry, no pun intended.) It all hangs together beautifully and your presentation is A1.
You manage to get some great detail in your aircraft work. The shades of grey work really well here. I do love this lens, do you have a converter for it as well?

Another great aviation image.... You ought to take it up!!!!
Keith....
Great shot, very nicely composed & I love the blast from the after-burner. What I don't understand is, although the plane's travelling at a great rate of knots, the smoke is hanging around in the air as if it was coming from a campfire on a windless day.

PS What's all the green stuff in the cockpit? They growing tomatoes in there?

Thanks for your comments all. That is a good question Rog and I should probably have explained. Without looking at the shots either side of this one I cannot be sure, but one thing they tend to do in an f16 display is demonstrate the fly by wire by putting the aircraft in a manoeuvre that should in theory not be possible. In this case they do a high angle pass so the aircraft moves forward in a horizontal line but with the nose pointing skywards. The other option is it was doing a slow pass and I have caught it just as it slams on the gas.
As for the cockpit, maybe it is made by Oakley ![]()
