We come in peace ...........
Something doesn't look quite right with the shadow to me but I don't care because it's great. Wonderful imagination and skill.
I'm at a loss as what to say on this one Dave except for the usual stuff such as 'great piece of manipulation and such' but I feel it deserves much more than that. I was even trying to think up another title but I'm at a loss to even do that.
So at least the image has done what it supposed to do and that is to get one "THINKING" and it certainly done that with me.
Well done Dave you have stirred up the Old Grey Matter!
Thanks guys but don't overdo the thinking David as you know it wears you out
I was a bit concerned about what shape the TV shadow should be so I curled up a sheet of paper to approximate the topology of that field and messed about holding a small box above it with a desk-lamp to cast a shadow. My hand kept getting in the way and the paper kept uncurling so I just went with the shadow you see here. At least it's a pretty shape
Have they snatched your portfolio can't find it anywhere !!
Nice to see you are playing about again.
Wacky !!!.....but brilliant !!!!
I Thought Anthony H had invaded your portal for a minuite ..... oooeer!
Clever ... with a capital C

I'm making a fresh start
Thanks guys ................
Saw you in practical ps then you vanished ,eviscera just vanished ,hope he comes back soon as well, its more interesting with you two here.
Thanks Neil though I don't think Eviscera has really gone ..... he's just a very slow worker
Im just doin stuff that would get me a fatwa if it posted on a fluffy site
Brilliantly you Mr U , to see you posting again , thats inspiring to make a fresh start. Clears the brain !
Shadow opacity drop 50% (infers the light source further away)
Use warp tool or displacement map to mould the contours of said shadow.
Add a few brush birds on the telly image to give continuity throughout the image.
Thanks for your UA Bruce ...... really appreciated
And thanks for your thoughts Mr E ..... shadow opacity I'll have a look at later though this whole picture has been introduced to the warp tool already, field topology (it was dead flat) and TV shadow both. The warp tool is my new friend As for birds on the telly then the idea is fab but in practice I don't think it would work at 1000px as they'd just look like little specks of dust on the screen. Sometimes artistic comleteness has to be sacrificed so it looks OK at the size it's going to be viewed. Keep on niggling though as no-one else does
Love the image, the tips and the banter.
Been a while Dave. Worth the wait though. Excellent work. Paul
Totally bonkers & way over my head as usual Dave but nicely done. Re the shadow, I was thinking if you placed the shadow layer over the b/g layer & merged them before warping, maybe when you then warped the b/g layer the shadow would follow the contours naturally? Or not, as the case may be.
Thanks guys .... and I think that you may have just had one of your rare lucid moments Rog. That idea about putting the shadow on the flat landscape then warping the two together sounds quite brilliant Just think what you could have achieved if you'd gone tee-total thirty years ago and not killed off 95% of your brain cells. I could be going on mini-meets with a Nobel Laureate
Thanks Dave (Ithink )
Did you borrow Scaramanga's telly BTW?
No it's my telly Rog ...... can't afford a flat-screen jobby like you
Thinking out the Box again Dave...!! Chen
It is a good TV though wouldn't mind borrowing it some time. You probabky have already done it but I sometimes use the gaussian blur on shadows, whatever strength suits the image, kind of takes the edge off.
This makes dropping in to the site worthwhile. Great work and good banter.
Thanks guys and thanks for the teddy Mavis
You have enough tellys of your own Mr S and yes, I did blur the edges of the shadow
Salutations Dave, very good indeed to see you..
