To my knowledge this event only took place three times. I was looking forward to it this year only to find out it was moved to another location. I think the water levels in the River Etive are unpredictable and may have been the reason for this.

There are always paddlers on the river but an organised competition with plenty of competitors meant a lot more opportunity for a shot. I tried two different parts of the course and this fall, (Right Angle Falls), was perfect so I spent most of the event shooting from this spot. They were coming over every two minutes and I got a burst of frames every time. When I got home I had hundreds of similar images and spent a while weeding them. This is one of my two selects from the day.

Oh, and it was also great fun to watch. This drop is actually twice the height shown in this shot. These guys and gals are mad!
