The Swirl by davidbailie

The Swirl

Thanks Chinga - that's the fact! - only they're bigger!!

This is Holland Park's Japanese garden The garden was opened in 1991 as a gift from Kyoto to commemorate the long friendship between Japan and Great Britain - It's a reflection of what the Japanese believe public gardens should be - been there once (Japan) - and for what it's worth I think they've cracked it - it is at the very least an area of order reflection - If you're feeling jaded head there, sit awhile, reflect and voila you're whole again Smile - In fact this applies to the whole park.

Holland park for my money is the finest park in the world - of course I haven't seen all the parks in the world (who has) but I've been around awhile (76 years) and visited many countries as a result of what I do + my own interests -

Holland Park is committed to a vision of a mixture of nature as it should be + organised formal gardens - it is truly wonderful - if you aint been there - you are culturally deprived Smile

Harbour Light

I love scences such as these and you've got a decent shot - why not straighten your horizon - scroll the horizon to the top of the screen - you#ll see what I mean

The Bridge by Lottiephotography

The Bridge

Pleasing shot - all rather bright and cheerful tho - not that that's wrong but could do I think with a little 'moooding' - start off perhaps with some 'curves'

Taking a Portrait by fynephotography

Taking a Portrait

I'm sure the comments above have their value - but what I really like about this shot it you LOOK!

In spite of the fact that many might see it as bland it is in fact very honest in my opinion - and in terms of portrait photography no matter how wound-up, posed, exaggerated, in your face - no matter - if it ain't honest - it doesn't have a lot of value.

When I do photo shoots I often say to the sitter I want the 'gorilla look' -- need less to say

F-16 by UBOAT

Love aircraft - great opportunity - you've more or less cracked following the aircraft to get focus - no mean feat at that speed ! - but much else in technique to work on - i.a. the shot needs space in the front for the aircraft to fly into .... anyone can learn technique (even me) - creativity? - ah! well! god gave that to some Smile - aren't they lucky ?....

Like the shot

Waiting for the Tide

mmh - cropping? personally I accept the foreground as being the primary element of the shot - If I have a negative it's that the shot appears over sharpened !!

ta Pat but no the brushes are shot and finding replacements was a bit of a research too far - take care

Fini by davidbailie

Thanks folks! -

bit late for this but there is a bit a laugh in there -

1st analyse what the multiple marks in the sand are supposed to be and then figure out what the large depression and ancillary others represent Smile

not too expertly portrayed - but enough I reckon Smile
