Whilst we were staying with our friends in Munich recently I noticed this character (I've called him Woody) standing in the corner of their room. So using some light painting I decided to make him a little more Saintly in appearance. To do this I turned out all the room lights and only had a small light on in the adjacent kitchen, just enough light spill to see what I was doing. I put the camera on a tripod and into BULB mode. I opened the shutter and using a small 9 LED torch gave him his halo by moving the torch around his head, slightly beaming up so as not to blind the camera, I then stood back and painted light over his woody body then closed the shutter.
It's simple to do, why not try it yourself? Comments always welcome. David
