To me this photograph is all about fringes. It is on the fringe of dawn, the fringe of winter and the fringe of the land.

Incidently this photograph was taken looking North towards Menie and Donald Trump's controversial golf course development. The dunes in this area were renamed by Trump to "The Great Dunes of Scotland".

Spot on Mr L. Still using the 24-105F4L I see. My copy was the worst L lens in my collection but no probs here. Love the simplicity of it.

Beautiful soft light, with a lick of colour in the sky as well.

This scene is just simply beautiful David, your composition is spot on and that splash of colour above the horizon is just enough to lift the image perfectly!

Somehow I can never associate coastal sea grasses with snow, yet the proof is in the viewing here. A beautiful scene, David, capturing the details in the f.g, the light and colours all beautifully in a most attractive composition.

Exactly my first thought on viewing this! The splash of light against the winter darkness, the unexpected snow on the coast, the sea and the land...

Having finally got my grubby paws on the issue of OP with your shots in, I also just wanted to say that I think they're beautiful as well!
