One of only 2 airworthy Lancasters left out of a total of 7377 built.

Probably most famously known for its part in the "Dambuster" squadron these aircraft served many a bombing role as well as having the capacity to carry the "Grand Slam" a 22000lb bomb, heaviest in WW11


I love the old bird and for me far more exciting than spits and hurricanes !!!! just me i guess Smile

Excellent shot. I have seen these fly over many times in previous years and the sound is unmistakable.

As a young lad, I remember building the Airfix kit too!

A very good photo shot with a fast shutter speed hence the still propellers. Did they not use the same engine as the Spitfire or was that just the Mosquito?
