Quite a lot of manipulation was required here in an effort to rid part of the picture of protruding vegetation; but hopefully this has been largely successful. Lucky to get this picture as within seconds a runner came past me and disturbed the bird!!

This is a fantastic shot, and I wish it were mine. However, I think it is capable of further improvement using the burn tool in Photoshop to bring up some of the detail around the eye and under the wing. Give it a go - I think you will be pleased with the result.
