The Naga Sadhus are worshipers of Lord Shiva and normally do not wear clothes. They are categorized in Akharas, just like regiments in an army. They hold sticks, spears, swords and trident as a symbol of their identity.

Well we are not born with cloths, a really great image. - gary
In principle, if they want to live in such a way that is their right ... A good picture!
Hi debu i understand most things but why there lack of clothes...we come into the world naked so must remain or what? would love to know

very strong vote from me Debu.
The covering in ash is also an act of worship I believe? In goa, there is a large scuplture of Shiva in the rock at little vagator, & a trident (shiva symbol) has been cemented inmto the rock.
Love this stuff Debu, I have a small Shiva temple in my loft room.
