This was taken on our recent holiday in Florida. At the bottom of the garden where we stayed, there was a canal, and numerous dragonflies and damselflies flying around. This particular red one (sorry, don't know its name) was quite elusive and it took us a few days before we could get any half-decent shots of it.
I think I needed to have the aperture a bit smaller to get more of it in focus, and I didn't quite get the focus concentrated on the head, but I was rather pleased with this one.

nice detail. beautiful light and colour. interesting composition with the dead twig.
Yes, as you're clearly very much aware, a "nearly" shot, but still a good try. Depth of field is so hard to get right and usually with precious little time to think about it. I like the plain b/g and the strong diagonal composition, and the colours work very well together.
