The trout fishing boats on Lockwood Beck reservoir.

I hadn't actually intended to end up here. I was in the moors checking out the heather, which wasn't ready and there was a thick blanket of high level grey cloud filling the sky except for one patch of blue in the distance so as sunset approached I decided to get in the car and head for that and purely by chance it was parked right over the top of the reservoir Smile

Make sure you put plenty of midge repellent on if you're going large, it was a bit lively Wink

A very happy piece of luck finding this scene. An excellent photo, very well composed and processed.

Somebody else will say this so I'll mention it first, I'd trim the bottom to make the shadows equal, it just spoils a little this wonderful fan of the bats. It's nice Dennis, hope you don't mind the suggestion.

I welcome all constructive criticism Dougie, I wish people would do it more to be honest. I did look at a crop myself and wasn't convinced that it improved the image, it sort of felt like the bottom had been chopped off. I've attached a new version to see what other people think??? Smile

I prefer v 1 with more space between the boats and the bottom of the image.

i can see dougies point about balance, so dont know why i like the little bit of gap between the reflection and the bottom of the pic, or is it that v1 just lifts the bottom of the boats alittle more into the pic. hey who cares, just know i like it lots.lesley

Looks good to me.

Makes very little difference, but I think Dougie crop has the edge for me.

V1....I like the "asymmetrical symmetry" of it.

Lovely, don't think the crop really adds to it imho
