I took a run down to Margate on Thursday to get some long exposure images using the Lee Big Stopper. I concentrated on shots looking across the pool out to sea and was ready to pack up and go home when I turned around and noticed the lights had come on. This image turned out to be one of my favourites of the evening.

A lovely nostalgic place Derek, I remember coming here as a kid. Up to your usual high standards this and I can see exactly why you like it. Sometimes it's worth having a look over your shoulder. Like your composition and milky water from the LE.

Love the composition and the soft evening light. The difference either side of the walkway is lovely - the silky smooth water with reflections on the right and the textured mud on the left with that pool of reflected light. Great stuff Derek.

Some lovely low light reflections in the water, Derek, and the long exposure effect on the clouds look good. The stars of the show are the red steps and the yellow bouy. An unconventional composition which works very well. Top work.

The lights on has changed this image to something very special Derek, you have a wonderful composition with the bright red rail above the harbour ladder. I've said it before many times, "Always look over your shoulder" it certainly worked for you here.

Excellent comp and clarity to this one, its always worth that look behind, I do it all the time now, after missing so many opportunities in the past, by not looking behind early enough!

Excellent shot and brings back so many childhood memories for me.

Not been to Margate for 18 years but must go back sometime as this is where I was born.
Well not quite on the beach !

But this is exactly the spot where I took my first dip in the sea.

This is good, love the red ladder it really pulls you into the image as i am sure that was your intention to do so.
A good job you did turn around, it's a refreshing change of angle on a seascape that works so well...
