I had a couple of days down in Dorset attending a course last week. Knowing I would have some spare time I took the camera and on Thursday afternoon I went down to Portland Bill. The weather started dull and grey and just got duller and darker. Not great for sunsets but fine for long exposure images.

You've really made the most of the conditions, this is spectacular! Love the colour of the water and the submerged rocks beneath; they lead my eye across the divide so effectively.

There is a lot of chalk in the water along this part of the coast, mainly I believe due to a massive cliff collapse a couple of years ago and no doubt increased by the recent heavy rainfall washing off the cliff faces. This dissolves in the sea giving that jade blue appearance

I likes it. I took some there a few years ago, but all ruined by spray blown by the rather vicious wind coming in off the sea Sad

This is excellent Derek, superb composition - I really like how you have included the fg rock at the bottom! The exposure is perfect for the water too and I love the blue tones! It's gorgeous! Smile
