Once upon a time there was a colourful crown. Everyone who walked past it oohed and aahed…
…but they knew not what existed within the crown. In its depths lay a sinister pool called “Version Two”...
...where bad things happened…
The stuff of nightmares Andrew. But luckily, just for flies.
Excellent work and wonderful reflection
Beautiful images even the second one with the flies. The reflection on the first is stunning.
Hope you and you family are well Andrew.

Wonderful image here Andrew!
Superb detailed capture, such a wonderful reflection....V2 is great too...no sympathy for the flies I'm afraid, they drive my crazy!
This is great! Love that violet colour in V1 Great fly catcher! Far more atractive than a can of "Raid"
just love your descriptive story telling and to that end it needs both versions.but gotta love the light and reflection of v1.lesley x
AAArrgh! A cannibal crown .. .. .. ..
ather lovely V2 - - - is just Nature in operation.
- Or - Beauty and the beasties - - -
V1 at least is well seen and really rather lovely.
In Newcastle this morning we saw a dead pigeon being dismembered by a herring-gull. A small group of elderly ladies stood nearby, humming and ha-ing and tut-tutting as though "it ought not to be allowed!" They are both vermin (I mean the pigeon and the herring-gull, not the elderly ladies - really I do ) and that is what vermin do!
Both lovely shots and a nice poetic commentary.
Excellent work, love V2 and the write up

What a scary little tale! And what stunning captures! Well done Andrew!
Puts me in mind of the old joke Andrew about the diner who said to the waiter,
''What's this fly doing in my soup''.
To which the waiter replied,
''I think it is the back stroke sir'' !!
Could do with this "crown" here at the moment as the flies are driving me carzy in the garden! Love the colours, light and reflection in V1.
