My picture of the world famous Iron Bridge in Shropshire. Taken through the cherry blossom at the beginning of the year when hopes were high of it being a beautiful summer. Alas it was not to be.
Hope that it reminds other EPZ members that it will not be long to next spring. Smile

Hi, one or two people have sent me a PM saying that surely the bridge is completely the wrong colour it should be black. People who have never seen the bridge would assume that it should be black in fact I think that it used to be black, but then they discovered what the real colour should be and was painted its original colour. That being this blue/gray colour. Myself think that it looks as if it has been undercoated/primed and is waiting its final coat of paint.
I hope that this has sorted out one or two miscomprehension's and that I'm not colour blind. Well not much anyway. Lol. Smile

Beautiful photo David. The Cherry Blossom sets the whole scene and leads you nicely towards the bridge and intricate iron work.

I like the view David and whatever colour the bridge should be, I quite like the colour contrasts here between the ironwork and pink blossom - roll on springtime Smile

This is a lovely composition..I like the way the blossom covers the top of the frame from end to end and than narrows out to afford a view of the bridge..excellent.

What a lovely shot of one of my fav. places. Can not wait for spring
brrr it is soooo cold today. I love the softness of the blossom against the cold hard man made metalwork - a nice contrast.

I love the contrast between the delicacy of the cherry blossom and the iron bridge, especially with the symbolism of the bridge being the first major iron construction.

A great shot of a wonderful subject that makes a virtue of what might have been a distraction. Last time I was there it was black. I for one think it looks better now.

Lovely way to combine the bridge with the blossom.When I see cherry blossom I want to keep in my head

A lovely photo of this world famous bridge and taken on a good day, too!
The blossom framing is very effective.
Your description is very interesting - I've been there a few times over the last year and agree that the painting has not quite reached its final stage!

This is one of the best photographs I have seen of this historic bridge! It looks quite idyllic through the blossom and I think the colour of the bridge looks OK like this. It is difficult to even think it was taken in Britain!
An excellent composition and a super image!
