I planted this tree in my garden about twenty years ago and every year it produces these beautiful Pink leaves and is absolutely stunning. My picture can not really do it justice. The only problem is as it was such a long time ago that I planted it I can not remember its name. Now I know that there are some really good gardeners as well as photographers out there so I was wondering if any of you could jog my memory and tell me what it is called. I know that's its a member of the Maple/Acer family so if you can please help me! ![]()
Thanks for taking the time and looking. David.

Are these the young/emergent leaves? How beautiful. So sorry I can't help you with the ID - I'm in the wrong geography, as you know ![]()
Linda just inspired me to capture the beauty of dried things...and you've just inspired me to go on and capture the beauty of new leaves: something the parents and I have always regarded with delight.

A very beautiful capture, David, and love your presentation, a real cracker.

superb presentation of this pretty tree with great detail in the leaves
I'm wondering if this is a Japanese maple, the leaves do get a beautiful colour. Nicely composed and very well presented.

Another good shot from your David. I like the framing too... looks all together really good.

Looks just like my Japanese maple
I put up a piccy about a week ago
Great image, really shows off the lovely colours.
I’m sure I’ve got one of these in my garden, I’ve had mine for about 13 years, if I remember correctly it was called a “Mop Headed” Maple. I’ve often wanted to photograph the new leaves but couldn’t decide how to approach it.
Regards
David
Thanks to all the people who have looked at this image and voted. I would also like to thank Linda (Mynett) on her Sparkle Award, it is very much appreciated and totally unexpected. Thank you.
I have also found out the name of the Maple: ![]()
