I am using my blog to wish absolutely everybody a really Happy New Year.

My mum has had her operation but she has contracted a kidney and lung infection since the op so is really poorly and we have been visiting every day. She is still in the High Dependency Unit and the doctor thinks she will be in hospital for about three months. Plymouth Hospital is about a 60 mile round trip for us so time is limited.

Today has been a breather as my brother has travelled down to see her..it has been wonderful to just have a little time to my self.

I am not sure how many people will see this as the Blogs don't seem to be frequented very much. I just don't have time to take photographs or upload at the moment but hope to be back soon. I dip into the WA's every so often..they keep me smiling.

So my message to everybody is keep smiling too and I really do hope that despite the doom and gloom worldwide, something magical will happen for everybody in the next 12 months. Smile Smile

Sorry to hear your Mum is poorly. It can't be easy, being so far away - take care, we'll still be here!

I have recently been in a similar situation to you with a parent ill and in hospital making regular long journeys necessary, so you have my sympathies! Hope 2009 is good for you and wish your mum a speedy recovery.
regards,
Robin

The visiting is hard, she never wants us to leave and she is so poorly and helpless !

Sorry to hear that your Mum is still so poorly. I have noticed you in combat with Jools from time to time, so knew you were around!!!! It must be a very tiring time for you all with all the travelling. Hopefully things will improve.
Best wishes for 2009 Di and thanks for your friendship and support in 2008
Love from
Helen

I wish you, and your mum, all the best for 2009, and hope that it brings you everything you may wish for. Take care, be strong, there are many people behind you who are thinking of you at this very trying and worrying time. Love, Carol x
