The Lake District has to be one of my favourite places. The weather wasn't great and I was forever dashing out of the car when a patch of blue sky appeared but we had a wonderful time regardless. This is the edge of Crummock Water..we had just finished walking around Buttermere and the sun decided to come out from hiding ! I am trying to adventure into the realms of images other than flowers but I think it will take some time. Wishing you all a good week. ![]()

Superb composition great light and the sky is super. I think IMHO you really have caught the prevailing weather conditions perfectly, oh and that beautiful landscape ![]()
Hugh
Very natural light and tones, the hint of haze. Plus portrait used to do what it does best, lead the eye meandering gently from foreground through to horizon.
But then you know I quite like square too... ![]()

Lovely image Di and compliments due on trying something new.
Geoff.
the weather gives it drama though Di, especially when the sun glints through raindrops.
A lovely lakeland image,
Chris.
Lovely tranquil scene Di, sounds like our weather, fine capture, Adrian
A lovely place to be Di, IF you've got the weather
Bit like anywhere in the UK really.

great image di,glad you enjoyed your stay in the lakes.ray
A wonerful image Dianah. I try to feel lucky every day that I live within a stones throw of all this beauty, but I have to admit that the weather sometimes tarnishes my enthusiasm a little....
Graham
The English countryside at its best Dianah, & you have captured it beautifully.
Hilary
Hi Di Trust you are well too and enjoying all that spare time (I am sure it is as busy as ever for you). This must be your annual landscape upload I guess? But from the sounds of it a genre we will see you venture into a little more. Anyway lets look at this one first:
Well the light didn't bring much to the party, did it - so you had to work with a rather dull and flat backcloth - but nevertheless this is good. I actually like the mute colour balances and the watery tones (in fact victorian 'lakeland watercolour' springs to mind).
Good stuff.
Very best wishes
Robert
Lovely shot, glad you had a good holiday despite the weather. The walk round Buttermere is beautiful, it's one of my favourite places in The Lake District.
Sylvia
Beautifully composed Di and I like the portrait format. The tones and detail are lovely too. Glad you enjoyed your holiday despite the weather!

Hi Di
The shot is well-taken and nicely presented.
After such a huge experience with flowers, the rest of the images will surely be a peace and cake ![]()
