Towards the end of a walk on Caer Caradoc in Shropshire I came across this great looking tree with the setting sun lighting it up on what had been a really drab day.

I see the shot, but could you have waited for the background to be in shadow and the tree lit then the shot would shine, its a tad confusing at the mo, maybe a shave off the left to to throw thw focus on the tree.

This has potential. I like the wall leading the eye to the tree but I agree with Steve that it's a bit confusing. My eye is drawn to the wall rather than the tree because the light is falling there. The tree is too much in the shadows to differentiate it clearly from the background. But nice idea.

Yes, it is a bit murky in the background.
Maybe try the conversion again, or as said, wait for the light.
