Thinking of Mick when I was taking this one.
Don't ask me why... ![]()

Lots of small detail getting bigger and visible when viewed large. So if you have some spare seconds, please...

Good morning everybody!
As it seems, there is the need of some more explanation. Beyond that gate is a ravine, not too steep, but quite wild, and the path is open only during hot summer weeks, because it is quite narrow and slimy on wet days. My eyes were hooked on that closed gate and the grafitti saying:
"Nazis raus!" - - - Exactly my oppinion too, but where to? Seen from this side, it would mean into the ravine, not out. Or out of Lana, into the ravine? I would have liked to have the grafitty complete, but the wall was repaired and the grafitty gone - and I would have lost some space on the right side, so I chose this frame, hope you like it nevertheless.
Tonight four of my friends from Scotland are coming for a visit over the weekend, so I won't be able to upload or comment. I'll be back on Tuesday, looking forward to seeing all the nice pictures you are going to upload meanwhile. Cheers,
Johanna

Johanna, you are right that this is my type of image. After reading your commentary tho' it would put it in a different perspective with me.Obviously there is a history there which I suspect of a highly unpleasant nature. This is one occasion I would feel it is wrong for me to break this down to aesthetically pleasing little detail pictures.I would take the picture as the ''whole''(as you have done} and feel it should be viewed for that certain beauty the image has.But the history that lies behind it should be part of the image as well.
For more years than I care to remember,I have photographed
gates and doors. This image has given me food for thought about what lies or did lie behind them. For me,a very thought provoking image indeed.
Mick
Very well throughout and captured Johanna, it has an almost hypnotic effect, I found myself studying the scene through the gate, so much good detail and well saturated colour, fine image, Adrian
