Taken at the 9/11 memorial in New York, which is nearing completion.
There are 2 memorial 'fountains', each in the footprint of one of the towers. The names engraved into the memorial are placed according to where those people were in relationship to the tower and each other at the time of the tragedy.
The cascade itself falls from the outer rim onto the first level and then into the void, a poignant tribute to those who lost their lives.
It's impossible to capture the entire memorial with a photograph, so I have tried in this to just 'set the scene'. Mono was an automatic choice and I've upped the contrast a little to try and convey a sombre atmosphere.
Thanks for looking, I hope you like it and that it conveys something to you. All feedback welcome as ever.
