Managed to find a coffee shop with free internet access in Braunton, so having completed all my business for the day I'm now relaxing and taking the opportunity to post another shot from last weekend at the Menai meet.

This is Puffin Island, with the Welsh mainland in the distance and that yellow ball of which we have seen all too little this year.

I managed to find a flat topped rock which was really catching the early sun and I liked the way the rock pools were holding the sky.

Thanks for looking, I hope you like it. All comment and critique welcome, whether good or bad.

Ian

love this Ian

next time I meet you, I will have to pick your brains about HDR - this looks so natural you'd never know unless you read the tags.

Really great shot, well captured. What filters did you have to get this?

lol thanks Marilyn. Forgive me but it is nice to think that Andalucia can also have the same weather as the UK. Smile

Gareth, no filters other than the UV which is permanently attached to my lens. When I shoot with my 10-20 I use the HDR technique and a lot of care in processing to keep it natural.

Ian

Brilliant capture of the sun on the rocks and those superb colours.
Seeing this shot I am going to have to go to the seaside again very soon, never be as good as this, but will try hard !
Excellent composition, a superb image.

Annette that's the wrong attitude to take. Go back to the seaside determined to take the best shot you have ever taken. That's all I do; each time I succeed I push my limits a little further.

Fantastic shot, looks so moody. Great colours too.

Breath taking. I love the dynamic range you captured and composition is perfect.

Super shot Ian, I`ve had a go at HDR on the photomatix pro trail version,God it`s hard to get them looking natural. You`ll have to give me some tips.

When I get my hands on some hdr software, it's a technique I intend to have a go at.

Thanks a lot everybody.

I haven't quite thrown my filters away, but since starting with HDR I use them less and less all the time now. Apart from the light I love the amount of detail you get from it.
