I knew looking at the thumbnail that this must be a contender for Editors Choice and wasn't surprised to see it was when I opened it.. Excellent
very nice, 1 point though, u can see some of the old background still, but the presentation of it all is so good that i don't reckon it matters too much! well done on the award.
1/3rd's what 1/3rd's, Cracking image well done on your editors choice award.
Beautiful. Puts mine to shame. I'm off to delete it now...
Thanks for the comments, I finally found one that Pete likes :0). Thanks for pointing out the background Simon, I had missed that. I'll get rid of it on my copy.
Great idea, well executed. Congrats on the award...well deserved!
Great idea, well executed. Congrats on the award...well deserved!Mike
Beautiful image, well done. The dark background really works well with the white swans. Nice simple border and subtle text - altogether very nice.
superb, well thought out, well deserved award, great picture.
Ian I have left a reply to your remark on my Kangaroo Paw Photo please read.
Fantastic photo. Congratulations on the award.
Nice work Ian,well deserved award!
Very good. Only wish the swan on the left wasn't looking so directly at the camera but we can't have everything, I guess!! :o)
hard to choose a superlative that hasnt been used! well done, lovely picture
I hardly need add further comment. This is
as clean and simple a visual symbol of 'serenity' as you could find in nature.
Wow!! nuff said..
Exellent!! I love it.
I do not understand how one can react to the comments made by other "readers". I take the opportunity of this magnificent picture to react to your comments concerning a picture of mine: you are perfectly right, and the candle should replace the sun (it is a rising sun) and the mask (which is a sculpture made several thousands years ago -Nefertiti) is also superfluous. Comments, especially well based criticisms, are quite useful. thanks.
It's easy to reply to other people's comments, you just use the 'add reply' button at the bottom of the comments. Thanks for the compliment on this image. I've added a further comment to yours.
Ian, I was browsing your portfolio and can't believe I missed this. I must have been away : ) It's simply a breath-taking shot. Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on the award. Certainly well deserved. elle
You have "Clocked" this one very well Ian ! .......
I think this must be one of the best of many swan shots I've seen Ian. The dark background is a great idea.
Thanks Graham. It's a rare event for one of my shots to really come off the way I want it, so all the positive comments are much appreciated.
Great photo,Well deserved, love your work.
Must give digital manipulation a go!! dread to think what I will come up with ,so far the best I've done is a bit of cloning.
Certainly deserves some kind of award! Very, very well done Ian!
Congartulations! Beautiful photo.
I'm agree, well done!
Well deserved award, one beautiful image.
A very attactive, classy image. Well deserving of the award!
Exellent!! I love it too
A great image. Well seen and taken, and the post camera work is faultless. Also, more importantly, the post camera work enhances the image.
I'm overwhelmed by the number of comments I keep getting on this. It's not often the image matches what I see in my head, but this has done and I'm really glad everybody else also likes it. Thanks again for all the feedback.
I dont know how i missed this one it`s beautiful and well done on the EC award.Alan

No matter how many times i see this picture, Ian, it just adds a new meaning to the word 'Serenity'.

Ian, thanks for your comments on my photo, Sunset and Lighthouse,I have only had my digital camera a week and still experimenting with settings etc. I value your comments as I can see you are an expert photographer, I love every one of your photos, brilliant composition and colours etc.this one of two swans is just stunning! Mac.
Thanks for the feedback. Makar I would never call myself an expert, there are loads of people on here far better than myself. I just try to explain what I see in a photo in the hope it helps people get more enjoyment out of their hobby.
You are a pro! Thank you for sharing your beautiful pics! This one is just beautiful.

Nice. Not at all cliche which is hard with a swan picture.
Thanks for your comments on my Coffee cup. You are right about it being a over exposed on one side and I will try again

Still trying to work out how this one passed me by without me noticing it.....ah well I've commented now, better late than never....lol
Wow! Fantastic shot/work!
Thanks for your visit...
My photo was taken at the opening ceremonies of the European Capital of Culture (which is Cork this year).
I used two "photocopy" filter layers, and "darken" blending mode to get the layers to blend with a "cutout" filter layer.
Also pushed up the saturation.
Thanks for the comments everybody.
Hi Ian,I am not surprised this was selected,I would have been more surprised if it hadn't been.Superb work.Love the reflection and detail.Take care.Ann
Awesome photo - congratulations on the EC! Excellent use of digital manipulation to improve an already excellent shot.
Very elegant. I really like it. Well done!
top shot! the black bg does this shot justice! excellent reflections too
Thanks again Ted
I felt this image was a little on the fake side.
Does the natural beauty of swans on water need this type of manipulation?
The swans look lost in a big pool of sticky photoshop oil rather then fresh water.
Each to their own Ethan. Thanks for the comment.
Your work is breathtaking!!! thanks alot for the comment on my question about the color and quality, I love your work!! Having alook at that article now.!! Think it will help allot. thanks.
No problem Lourens and thanks for the comment.
Beautiful photo. Excellent work, Well done.
Wonderful photo, happy 90th click!
ps i just use nuts from the local garden centre to attract the woodpecker.
Just realised, I've seen this a hundred times but never commented! Still pretty good considering you took this in your youth!
lol, thanks Ed. Good to heard from you again, hope things are going well.
Love this shot. The swans' postures are great.
Was this using the flood filter?
Hi Sam, thanks for the comment. No filter anywhere near this, the reflections are totally natural. :0)
The only manipulation is what I put in the description.
wow, just gorgeous
this photo is perfect... I'm really lost for words...
Thanks a lot Adriano
Breathtaking image, I'll add a 100th vote
