Two contrasting views of the same landscape, taken minutes apart, from places fifty yards apart.

If - as is possible, I think - I was parking and shooting on a private road, I beg the owner's forgiveness, and will make restitution with prints of both shots, if htey contact me...

As you say, both very different, but capturing the spirit of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

V1 makes for a dramatic image and V2 looks just the way I remember it from when I lived in Wales.

Looks really good in mono, the gate is accentuated by the pale sky. I love North Wales and Blaenau always looks so moody and (but not quite so much these days) industrial!
Happy new year to you both, John

The monochrome certainly adds to the mining heritage and downward spiral and final closure.

V1 has an intensity...have had a go at a mod to try and accentuate that sky Smile

Damn those dust bunnies!

I admit posting this while I was tired from the drive home. I promise to clean my sensor this week...

Lovely mods, all round: interesting that the processing introduces an edge effect in at least two of the three mods.
