A beautiful well lit portrait Richard, I just find the light patches either side a bit distracting especially the right hand one as it draws the eye away from her face.

Like V1 mono Ann but prefer V3. I think you are worrying a bit too much about blurring the bg Ann if this is really what you want try doing it in camera by selecting a larger aperture like f5.6 this will give a much shallower dof.
