The Old man of the Woods

When MrS and I stopped of at "Fran's Mere" in the lakes, we found this wonderful gentleman guarding the filed next to it!

Couldn't resist getting his portrait, and I have to admit, he sat beautifully for it

Possibly a Marmite shot - but I really loved the texture of the moss and the curvature of the branches - they look like hands reaching out for you!

I did take a few minutes to image what changes he had seen in his lifetime - quite a few, I suspect!
