This was a sneaky candid taken with a tabletop tripod in a pub during a lunch with my family. This is my paternal grandfather. I'm biased, but I loved the original as I think it gets him perfectly. There's always a great deal of thought going on behind those eyes.

Superb. Contrast and light are just spot on. Have to agree with you about the eyes also. He looks very alert and thoughtful.

Thanks everyone. I'm so proud of this one, as it's so personal to me. Michiels, I spent a bit of time with this in photoshop to try and bring out the details. I must confess, I never knew it would look like this when I started, mostly I just tinker around and see what happens. Some images work better than others. I'm glad you liked this one.
