Two images of the same fly this morning, though shot with two different lenses....

Thank you for all the kind comments on yesterday's image, I will try and sort something out regards writing a article on shooting stacked macro images and the handling of macro subjects in the near future.

Phenomenal detail and clarity in this extreme close up, it looks like you've had him in makeup beforehand, he hardly has a hair out of place and looks spotlessly clean! lolGrin

Ok Ade fess up. How do you get them to sit stll for long enough to take multiple photos for stacking? Chloroform, Night Nurse or something a bit more permanent? I am jealous of these outstanding photographs. They reek of effort and expertise.

I refer you to the short explanation on yesterday's post Smile

Well just came back online from very early this morning and I'm blown away away by the reaction to this image, thank you all so much for your comments and awards, they're all very much appreciated believe me!

Think I best put fingers to keyboard and sort this article out I'm talking about, because trust me when I say there isn't any secrets to doing this kind of work other than patience and a reasonable amount of competence...

Thanks again folks......Ade

Such fantastic detail, please please write the article and let me know where I can read it. The detail and work that goes into your macro images is remarkable and I would love to have a go (not necessarily insects- i'm glad their small after seeing them close up) with flowers and other small things.
Keep up the good work.
