The gentleman on the left knew that I was focusing on the First Class sign, so he was very careful to sit back out of my way.
I love it when that happens...
Thanks for looking,
super in mono....great double portrait ...so well converted
love the title
have a super day
I'm off to work now, so giving you my UA now! (why wait?!)
This is so good Moira absolutely perfect in every way.
Wow! Thanks Ollie, and thanks Tony, that must be the fastest UA on record!
I had been fiddling with the b&w conversion for a while and last night decided to rework it from scratch. I'm quietly pleased with the result.
And thank you Albert too for your UA, this has only been up for less than 10 minutes! I guess the rest of the day is all downhill from here...
Great B&W tones, Moira.

that's your story...and you're sticking to it
isn't there an offence of photographing mature gentlemen??????

It's an old railway carriage with no corridor - they were mine, all mine...
Thanks everyone, I'm delighted with the response this is receiving.
Wonderful image, great composition, textures and tones.
Wonderful work Moira!
Thank you so much for your UA Ken! And thanks to everyone who has called in here. I think I need some breakfast, this has been quite a start to the day!
Well done Moira. A cracker.
And it keeps on coming Moira, love them tones great capture with a title to match.
love the symmetric pose of the two men.
only the POTW is now missing
What a thoughtful gentleman, Moira, the older generation's manners coming to the fore Carol
Excellent Moira, nostalgic in many ways. And a mono !!!!! Deserving of the awards.
Wow you're off without a shove this morning Moira. 4 awards and just half nine. Are these two brothers by any chance? they do look quite alike? It's a relaxed image which seems to have fallen into your lap in the enclosed carriage. Great vanishing act by the guy on the left.
Well done you,
Thanks again folks, and particularly to John for adding his UA - this is quite a morning!
Dougie, no I don't think they were related. They were out for the day with their wives who were sitting to my right and fortunately were keeping their legs in tidily.
This was the third of four shots that I took, by this time the gentleman on the left was quite fascinated by what I was doing. His friend was in a world of his own.
the expressions are wonderful, so is your treatment
Such lovely gentlemen. I love how you've processed this. It's as clear as a bell - wonderful tones. Excellent content.
A classic only you could have accomplished.....wonderfully toned.
Love it! The men look like twin brothers, the same expressions. Excellent conversion, love the tonal quality........Sandy
The men looks very relaxed, very nice feel to this image and really made me feel like travelling back in time. one more UA to add to your impressive collection of awards.
The power of the image. At first it looks like a grab shot/candid, but there's so much detail in the scene and unanswered questions about the gents that it keeps your attention for far longer than usual.
Certainly more comfy seats here Moira than my railway days.
I would have found it easier to have a sleep on these ones on the nightshift !!
A first class shot.
This is special Moira - I'm sure they would love a copy of this too! Congrats on all the well deserved awards - it really is super.
I agree with Ann, special Moira and beautifully done - my congrats's for your well deserved awards!
Just got back indoors from steadying a ladder for Bill and this is on six UAs - I've never had anything like that before! I treasure UAs, because they are democratic. Thanks to Yung and Sandy for adding theirs, and thanks to everyone who has called in here today, it's been an amazing start to the week!
What a super capture, Moira, and a great title, too That's a very nice looking railway carriage (looks very comfy!), and the mono processing is spot-on - wish my monos looked this good!
I decided when I saw this it was going to have my UA, even before I saw all the others listed below, so you've 7 of 'em now!
I think he is very suspicious of your actions Moira.
A delightful image well done.
Hi, Moira, one word, FIRST CLASS, well two words if you no what i mean, excellent.
Glad you explained the scenario as I thought the two men had an argument or something
Thank you Trev, and thanks again everyone else! This is proving to be quite a day!
Trev, I processed the b&w conversion using Silver Efex Pro 2, the High Structure (smooth) filter, but with Brightness and Contrast both reduced a bit and some further work afterwards particularly on the midtones. I had already done quite a bit on the RAW file, because the light balance between the two sides was very tricky.
A first class image Moira, and a must for Mono. (No, not Mono Rail)
superb just superb,well captured.ray
A beaut! One wants to keep looking. Wonderful compo Moira, and excellent rich tones in this one.
Lovely mono Moira of a couple of old timers, you had a ticket to ride and caught this beauty, Peter..
Thanks again folks and thanks to Nick for his UA - that rounds off an amazing day just perfectly!
Like it a great shot with lots of atmosphere.
A first class carriage for a first class image, well done with all these awards Moira, quite a collection.
A fine capture Moria, like the details and good mono tones, sorry I missed it yesterday.
Congrats on all the UA
A superb capture Moira - many congratulations on its many awards
The eye of him,,lol.

Ha ha Moira , how to catch a man! Never thought of this sort of carriage. Looks great in mono . You have such Nerve xxx
There you go I have been missing out that's what you get for falling behind, nice photo exceedingly good, pleased for you, regards Leon.
One of your very best Moira, this one fully deserves all the accolades it has received
Two things I love, Black and White and a candid moment .. Love it
A most lovely street shot ! I like how they look alike physically and in their expression and at the same time looking at opposite ways.
