It wont be any surprise to you that about 10 minutes after I shot this I got absolutely drenched.
One thing you can say about the monsoon weather we are currently experiencing in the south is that it is producing some dramatic skies. Between the downpours I spent a fantastic hour at the edge of this field near my home in Kent attempting to combine the elements above with the colourful rows of lavender.
Derek
I have added a variant following Julians (joolsb) comment, lightening the sky on the left hand side.

Simply stunning Derek! Lavender fields are a joy in their own right, but with this sky, you've made them something else!! The light and detail in the foreground are brilliant. No doubt in giving you my UA today!! ![]()
Ann
Superb lighting, Derek, and strong lines pointing to the light.

Quote: One of your favorite locations Derek and you do it justice every time. Superb image of somewhere we wish to go.
Ron.
It is a great location. If you have the chance to get there in the next week or so PM me. I would be happy to meet up and do another shoot there.
Quote: I think I'd trim about a third off the left of the image to balance things up a bit...
Nice work, though.
I agree that LH side looks a bit too dark Julian, which is odd because the tiff file definitely looks brighter. It was very dark under that cloud but I will do a mod.
Thanks for the C&C's everyone and particular thanks to Ann, Cor and Sarah for their UA's. They are gratefully received.
Many thanks for the GEA Laurel. Thats really brightened up my afternoon.
I have to agree with Julian here, the left weakens the composition slightly, but it's an image any of us would one wall space for. That smell brings back memories of old aunties and horse hair chairs.

Superb image, Derek. I like dark tones so I'm going for moody no 1.

Thanks again everyone. I have a few more to upload but I will try not to subject the site to 'lavender overload'.
Many thanks for the UA Yung. Very much appreciated my friend.
Derek
V2 for me please, excellent comp and all the elements coming together for a change this year
.
Ian
The hole image just seems to be beautifully balanced.
