these terns up on Farne are very uptight and peck at visitors getting too close to the young, this was taken with a wide angle 12-24 mm at 12mm , i could feel its breath, and certainly they shower excretion all over, it made my lens look white like a canon. thank heavens for poundland lens wipes. ![]()
he was backlit by a fierce sun causing me to squint so it was a question of standing ground and firing, i was wearing a cap, and depending on the camera body to protect my face.

Hi Phil,
Stunning shot, the framing and clarity are perfect.
My Uncle returned a week after our first trip and the terns weren't attacking people as the chicks were more able and the terns musn't have considered people to be threatening. He was gutted!
