I heard about this site from a gentleman from the UK who is/was posting on FanArtReview and decided that I would take a look and see what this site is all about. He thought highly of it.

I am "semi-retired", but usually work about 35 hours a week in retail, at least until the end of the year. I am a "retired" IBM mainframe networking software engineer. In other words, I was a "techie" on IBM mainframes dealing with networking and file transmission software for about 28 years, until I was laid off in 2009. I have three grown children and 5 teenage grandchildren, one of whom will soon be twenty years old. I grew up in a small town in the Southwest corner of the state of Michigan in the US. I spent most of my life living around Lake Michigan in the states of Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin. For the past 11 years I have lived on the East Coast of the US in the state of New Jersey. I live between the state capital of Trenton and Princeton, New Jersey, the hone of Princeton University. I didn't get really serious about photography until this year. I did take a lot of photographs in 2006 on a trip to Israel. I didn't have a good enough camera to really capture the best of what I saw. The desert sun was difficult for me to deal with, although I do have several photos which are OK and I "may" post a couple of them here, but I haven't decided yet. My favorite subjects are architecture (currently doing a lot of photos at Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, USA), especially Gothic architecture. I also like to take photos of cats, usually CFA show cats. However, the lighting at CFA cat shows is not conducive to taking photos of the actual judging. I don't go to as many cat shows as I did for a couple of years. One of my best friends sells high end cat shelters and carriers and I have hept her sell at many shows. She also shows and breeds Tonkineese (cross between Siamese and Burmese cats). I have shown cats a few times, but they both decided they just wanted to be house cats and no longer wanted to show, although they had shown well previously.
