I haven't uploaded anything for a while and thought I would try something a little different.
Here is a photo of the Sun showing a small sun spot group.
Just at the moment we are at the minimum of the 11 year solar cycle, so there are very few spots to be seen on the Suns surface.
The camera was mounted onto the telescope using a T2 mount.
A home made solar filter was used on the objective lens.
The filter is made from Baader Astro Solar Film which cuts out 99.9% of the light and heat reaching the camera.
The scope has a focal length of 350mm and an aperture of f5.
Shutter speed was 1/1600 sec
Cropped from the original image to 990 x 990 pixels to allow for a 10 pixel white border.
Colour, Brightness, and Contrast adjusted to give a nice shade of yellow.
A little USM to finish.
Hope you enjoy it, and as always comments are welcomed.
