Well for my money to have done what you set out to accomplish. Given your shutter speed I guess you have used a tripod. The sun breaking the horizon is in just the right place with a nice blaze of coloyur filling a diagonal.
Nice work.

Thanks for the kind words, this is my first upload on here so it's nice to get some good feedback. Frank, I did indeed use a tripod - how else do you shoot landscapes?!
Unfortunately it was a rushed shot, I literally had about one minute to get setup - I had returned here to try again for more flowers, but the sky didn't look promising, so we ended up in the pub...the dog got his walk, and then this happened...I'm sure you all know that panicked feeling!!! I will post a previous shot, but with less poppies, where I spent time on the composition. Cheers x

Hello, What a cracking image for your 1st upload! Great comp and view and fantastic Foreground full of flowers! Beautiful image, I couldnt resist doing a mod for you. The only thing for me is it is a bit over saturated, for me anyway so I have desaturated and cropped a little bit off the border (Only because I am not a big fan of borders) and this view is so beautiful a big border is a little distracting. This is my opinion though and others may disagree. Finally I gave it a tiny selective sharpen so just hopefully sharpening the foreground only. The desaturating brought out more detail anyway and sharpening the whole of the image made it oversharp in some areas.
Hope you like it. Cracking first upload![]()
