Water in a white bowl, dyed blue using, of all things, a fish anti-fungal treatment (methelyne blue) to give a nice deep blue colour. Camera set at f22, 8seconds in very low light. Moment caught using flash on manual at precise moment

Beautifully and simply done, to great effect. I love the colours, and am intrigued by what created the lighter blue reflections.

The lighter blue reflections are probably caused by the bowl in which the water is place reflecting off the surface. The bowl was only half filled so that any reflections seen in the water showed only a plain white background.
