Late afternoon sun was marking out a golden band in the fallen leaves at the foot of this tree. I opened the lens up to focus just on that area but the effect isn't quite visible at this resolution. I like it anyway and I hope you do, too. Smile

I'm still sorting through my autumn shots and, gosh, they feel almost like high summer in these grey November days!

Superb lighting and wonderful Autumn tones. Not too keen on the composition . THe tree trunks just look as if they were there but not really part of the picture . So my vote is really for the colours ofv the carpet of leaves....Phil

I really love the rich colour and light.I would leave it as it is.I can see the 'band of gold' clearly, and the soft light on the left tree is beautiful..I have problem with light, I always prefer darker version, for me,it seems light looks better in dark..Smile

Lovey Autumn Image,, I like it ---BUT---the foreground on the right of the shot,--"TO ME" looks a bit distracting-- somehow !!.

Good point, Pete. I've posted a second version with some of that area cropped away; it also removes the dark green triangle from the top-right corner, though that was dark enough not to be distracting.

Well spotted Dave. I prefer V1 for the inclusion of more rustic leaves on the right even if it is out of focus (doesn't matter cos the colour is there and it gives depth.) A clever bit of capture of an Autumn scene. Many would have walked right past. Thanks for your comments on 'Shadows'. I agree.and have commented back as such on my PF. Paul

I really think some of us take the wonderful spontaneous photo far too seriously. A fine Autumn scene and I had to look real hard to EVEN notice the white bit in the corner!!

I do prefer the crop of v2 which does seem to focus the eye more on to the band of gold. A lovely colourful autumn carpet, with the extra special band of sunlight.

I do like the cropped v2 - helps the image. I also like the light - the dark tones are appealing. Very hard to get those rays of light on the forest floor - probably didn't last but all of 2 minutes either....
