My touristing after a conference in Nancy in March was mostly limited to a snowy, grey afternoon that didn't result in much photographic inspiration. The following morning, though, the sky had cleared and I was able to pop back into the town centre in a free hour before catching my train home.
Overnight, the fountains in the Place Stanislas had all grown a coating of ice. Some of them had spectacular beards and icicles a few feet long from their spouts. As your mother always told you, you'll get pneumonia if you go out dressed like this!
(By the way, for those of you who think that the British are unique in being unable to cope with winter, the trams in Nancy are defeated by half an inch of snow.)
All comments and criticism appreciated.
