Two Rocks by mikesmith

Two Rocks

First impression - I loved it.

Thinking about it, the foreground rocks are slightly (it sounds too harsh) lifeless when compared to the background. Any chance you could liven them up a little?

Overall, wish I could produce something this good.

Scaleber Force revisitied

The first two comments are spot on, the light is perfect and the shutter speed is just right - well done.

boiled egg and soldiers by Cathy57

boiled egg and soldiers

Agreed - a good idea nicely done.

I spent a while looking at this and suddenly felt that the coloured soldiers look like nervous footballers in a penalty wall, protecting their privates!

Good effort - beats any of my moon shots. I like the emphasised contrast.

Tonight's Moon by Stuart463

Tonight's Moon

Well done. I was looking at the moon tonight and thinking it is a little hazy to get a good shot, but you got a decent one - exposure seems spot on in particular. There is a slight feeling of blur, even though it looks clear when I study individual bits - maybe it's my eyes!

This shot really does show that it's not 100% full tonight. I was just remarking earlier that to the naked eye it looks pretty much like a full moon.

Wreck by Codiac

Wreck

Lovely.

The detailed textures are captivating.

If I was to be ultra picky, and this could be about viewing this in a browser, the very detailed foreground is a bit distracting - I think it's the pesky bits of black seeweed. It would affect the composition quite a bit if you cropped the bottom to where the left edge of the boat's reflection forms a point with the dark diagonal line, though I think that would be an option to try.

Waterloo by Big_T

Waterloo

I'd say you got the shutter speed spot on.

I like the composition, too, but I'm wondering if it would be better or worse if you cropped the top edge down to the pointy rock at top centre (I can't decide from covering the very top bit of background over on screen whether it would be an improvement, but that area has a slightly distracting highlight in it.

Art & Life 2 by mrswoolybill

Art & Life 2

Another vote for V1 here - there's more of the Trompe L'oeil about it.

By: mrswoolybill

Droop by woolybill1

Droop

Interesting - it feels like V1 has more impact, but V2 is easier on the eye and seems to work well, aesthetically.

Either way, well spotted - the type of abstract I wish I was better at picking out.
